Nursing Informatics Specialization to be Launched Registered nurses can focus their studies on the use of information technology to improve patient care. In April, Walden University’s M.S. program in Nursing will offer a specialization in Nursing Informatics. The specialization offers a B.S.N. Track for R.N.s entering the program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an R.N. Track for nurses with a hospital diploma, associate’s degree in nursing (A.D.N.) or bachelor’s degree other than a B.S.N.
This specialization blends nursing science with computer and information science. It includes online coursework in information systems, database concepts and project management, with fieldwork experiences that provide nurses the opportunity to apply their new knowledge immediately.
