Walden Announces Interim President Jonathan A. Kaplan, J.D., has helped lead the organization for five years. In May, Walden University announced the appointment of Jonathan A. Kaplan, J.D., as interim president of Walden, effective immediately. The Walden Board of Directors expressed its utmost confidence in his selection. During his five years in the organization, he has proved himself to be a strong leader who is committed to the entire university community.
Paula Peinovich, Ph.D., concluded her tenure with the university to pursue other interests in higher education. The university community thanks her for her dedication and service to Walden for the last five years. Her leadership helped the university grow from a few thousand students into the comprehensive university it is today with more than 26,000 students.
Kaplan is highly focused on Walden’s commitment to providing a learning experience that is of the highest quality and integrity. He is truly an advocate for the student. Prior to joining the organization five years ago, he had a distinguished career in government and public policy, including service as an economic policy advisor in the White House. He graduated cum laude from Harvard College with a Bachelor of Arts in government and earned his Juris Doctor from the Boston University School of Law, where he served on the Law Review.
Under his leadership, Walden's mission and values will remain unchanged. Walden has attracted a community of extraordinary students, as well as impressive faculty, all sharing a common desire to make a positive social impact—to make a difference.
