Visit Walden at Health, Human Resources Conferences

Walden will have booths at the conferences of the Society for Human Resource Management and the National Association of County & City Health Officials.

Walden University will be represented at two top conferences in June and early July.

Students, alumni and faculty planning to present at either of the conferences are encouraged to send details (presenter name/background, topic title/topic description, time, date, meeting room name or number) to the Walden Ponder.

The SHRM 59TH Annual Conference & Exposition is being held June 24–27 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and will feature seven-time Tour de France winner and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong, baseball team co-owner and business executive Linda Alvarado, best-selling author Dan Pink, Freedom Writers teacher Erin Gruwell and Grammy winner Michael McDonald.

Walden students, alumni and faculty are asked to visit Walden at Booth 2326 and bring colleagues along who may be interested in learning more about the university. Dr. Susan Jespersen, Walden’s lead human resource faculty member, will be at the booth to meet with students.

Also, while at the booth, current and prospective students, alumni and faculty can pick up an invitation to Walden’s Hospitality Suite at the Las Vegas Hilton, where light refreshments will be available from noon to 7 p.m., June 25 and 26 (Monday and Tuesday).

During the poster session, M.P.H. student Laura Schnicke will present the practicum research she completed at Milwaukee's County Health Programs.

The NACCHO Annual 2007 Conference, “Health Equity and Environmental Public Health—From Local to Global,” is being held July 11–13 at the Hyatt Regency Columbus in Ohio and will feature the nation’s top frontline health and disease officials as well as a sneak preview of PBS’ Unnatural Causes, a four-part series about how inequities affect our health.

Walden students, alumni and faculty are asked to visit Walden at Booth 500 and bring colleagues along who may be interested in learning more about the university.
