2007
Stephen R. Douglas,
who earned an M.S. in Education, was hired to teach third grade by the Northport Board of Education in Michigan.

 

2006
Dr. Dahlia McGregor Petgrave,
who earned a Ph.D. in Education with a self-designed specialization in science education, had an article, "Effective Ways of Teaching Science Teachers to Use Strategies," in the fall 2007 Journal of Educational Practice for Social Change, which is published by the Walden chapter of Phi Delta Kappa. Petgrave was also recognized in the 11th edition of Who's Who Among America's Teachers. In September, she became the lead teacher for South Shore High School in Brooklyn, N.Y.

 

Dr. Edwisimone Rodriguez-Dorestant, who earned a Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Higher Education, became an executive director of student development and student services at Medgar Evers College, City University of New York in Brooklyn, N.Y.

 

2003
Charlene A. Coles,
who earned an M.S. in Education with a specialization in Elementary Reading and Literacy, was one of five national finalists for the National Federation of Republican Women Favorite Teacher Award.

 

1998
Dr. Peter A. Maresco,
who earned a Ph.D. in Education, published “Developing Digital Course Materials: Who Has Time?” in Academic Exchange Quarterly. He will present at the Popular Culture Association National Conference in San Francisco in March. Maresco is a clinical assistant professor of marketing at the John F. Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.

 

1995
Dr. W. Spencer Mullin,
who earned a Ph.D. in Education, was unanimously chosen to head the Dracut public schools in Massachusetts.

 

School of Health Sciences

 

2007
Wanda F. Carter,
who earned a Master of Public Health, was awarded a three-year fellowship with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in their Public Health Prevention Services Program. Carter is a prevention specialist on a six-month assignment on the Healthier Worksite Initiative in the Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity Branch at the National Center for Chronic Disease and Health Promotion in the CDC.

2007
Dr. Ken “SKC” Ogbonnia,
who earned a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences with a specialization in Leadership and Organizational Change, has been appointed chairman of the board of directors of First Texas Energy Corp. He also recently joined Davenport University to teach leadership in the Sneden Graduate School.

 

2006
Dr. George Stanley Reeley Jr.,
who earned a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences with a specialization in Leadership and Organizational Change, was appointed as a full-time faculty member at Strayer University-Greenville, S.C., teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs in business, management, and marketing.

 

2003
Dr. Cheryl Crozier Garcia,
who earned a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences, was elected to the board of directors of the Human Resource Certification Institute. Dr. Crozier Garcia is an associate professor of human resource management at Hawaii Pacific University and program chair of the Master of Arts in Human Resource Management program. 

 

2000
Dr. Jean Murray,
who earned a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences, has several blogs: www.practicestartupsuccess.com, for professionals starting their practices; www.thethrivingwriter.com, for freelance writers who want to start their own writing businesses; and www.smallbusinessboomers.com, for baby boomers.

 

1994
Dr. Madeline Frank,
who earned a Ph.D. in Administration/Management, is publishing a monthly newsletter about how classical music can enhance people’s lives. The newsletter is archived on her Web site, www.madelinefrankviola.com.
