Two New Bachelor’s Degree Programs Available

Adult learners can major in child development or psychology.

Walden University is now offering two new degree programs that expand the university in important fields:

These programs—in addition to the B.S. in Business Administration program—further expand access to higher education for goal-oriented adult learners, placing them on a path of lifelong learning and inspiring them to make a difference in their organizations, communities, and professions. Classes start in June, and students in all three bachelor’s programs can take elective courses from each of the programs.

B.S. in Child Development
Offered through The Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership, the B.S. in Child Development is a non-licensure program for professionals interested in pursuing a career where they can positively impact children during the early childhood years—from infancy through preschool—and help set the course for each child's future success in school and in life.

Students can choose from three concentrations that deliver an in-depth focus on child development, child-centered learning, developmentally appropriate environments, and effective practices for working with children and families:

The unique curriculum blends the latest research in child development and education, insights and guidance from national experts, and a look into effective practices in early childhood education settings around the country.

B.S. in Psychology
The Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree program is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of the field of psychology and its relevance in an increasingly diverse and global society.

Students can choose from four concentrations:

Advanced undergraduate students can earn credit toward Walden's M.S. in Psychology by taking select graduate courses and may graduate with a master's degree in as little as a year, depending on individual progress.
