Walden Debuts Student Assistance Program

Help is available 24/7 for life’s challenges.

Continuing its commitment to supporting student success, Walden University now offers a free, confidential, round-the-clock counseling service for students facing personal or life challenges.

Advice Is Available
The Student Assistance Program gives Walden students—and anyone in their households—access to experienced clinicians via a toll-free, 24-hour phone line or online chat, every day of the week. Guidance consultants provide confidential support for personal concerns such as

  • Dealing with major life changes
  • Grief and loss
  • Stress, anxiety, and depression
  • Relationships, including marital conflicts and child-rearing problems
  • Legal and financial concerns

Counselors can also refer callers to local resources. All records are kept private and confidential by ComPsych, the program provider.

A Productive Partnership
To provide this service, Walden has partnered with ComPsych, one of the world’s largest providers of assistance programs. ComPsych has consulted with more than 25 million individuals and 10,000 organizations throughout the United States and in 92 countries since it was founded in 1984.

Online Resources
In addition to one-on-one counseling, students can also use the Student Assistance Program’s online resources, including

  • In-depth HelpSheets on a range of topics
  • Referral services in such areas as child care, elder care, and legal and financial counseling
  • Planning tools and strategies to manage stressful situations
