Alumni Volunteer of the Month

May’s volunteer is very persuasive.

Dr. Richard Waites, who earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from Walden University in 2000, is the Alumni Association’s choice for May’s Volunteer of the Month.

Waites, a board-certified civil trial attorney and a trial psychologist, volunteered to present the April Alumni Lecture Series, “Public Speaking: How to Persuade Other Professional People.” The response was so overwhelming that he has offered to do another presentation for those who were unable to participate.

Waites is the CEO of The Advocates and Advocacy Sciences Inc., a leading U.S. trial consulting firm. He has helped with trial strategy, witness training and jury selection in more than 1,000 civil cases. He also has written or contributed to 11 books and more than 40 articles, including Courtroom Psychology and Trial Advocacy.
