Faculty Receive Grants for Research into Real-World Solutions Walden will help fund the research of 13 faculty members on topics ranging from peer mentoring to vicarious traumatization.
To support research that leads to real-world solutions, Walden University awarded two faculty members and five faculty teams the 2008 Faculty Research Initiative Grants, totaling $110,000. This year’s grants, which are in $10,000 and $20,000 allotments, support research projects ranging from students’ health risks to prisoners’ “reentry” perspectives to peer mentoring. Thirteen educators were recognized. The grant program helps fund select faculty research projects that are deemed exceptional in merit. The program goal is to support excellence in scholarly work. The grants provide seed money for the development of faculty research agendas. Walden University and the Walden community congratulate the following individuals and research teams for their standout projects: Examination of Students’ Health Risk Behaviors that Contribute to Cardiovascular Disease and Obesity in Mississippi
