Lorna Maxwell, who earned an M.S. in Education, had a story published in Chicken Soup for the Breast Cancer Survivor's Soul.

Dr. Timothy C. Noxel, who earned a Ph.D. in Education, was promoted to the position of elementary school principal in Dundalk, Ontario, Canada.
2001
Dr. George C. Hogan, who earned a Ph.D. in Education, spoke about “Remembering Those Who Have Made a Difference in United States Military Voluntary Education” at the Department of Defense Worldwide Education Symposium.
2003
Dr. Matthew Uzukwu, who earned a Ph.D. in Health Services, became an adjunct faculty member at Bowie State University in Maryland.
1996
Dr. Sandra Adelle P. MacDonald, who earned a Ph.D. in Health Services, was elected president of the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland, the professional nursing association for the Canadian province. She also sits on the national board of the Canadian Nurses Association.
2006
Dr. Carlene Graham, who earned a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences, presented “Influences of Education, Employment, and Income on Women's Health” at the first Governor's Conference on Women's Health, in Florida. As a result, she received a special invitation from the deputy secretary of health to participate in a statewide plan to address women’s health issues across the lifespan. At the completion of this plan, Florida will become the fifth state to actively target women’s health and identify priorities in the form of a statewide plan of action.
Dr. George Stanley Reeley Jr., who earned a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences, had an article, “Higher Power in Higher Education: How a South Carolina Technical College Compares Spiritually with Liberal Arts Learners,” published in Essays in Education.
2005
Gregory M. Gryczan, who earned a B.S. in Business Administration and is enrolled in Walden’s M.B.A. program, was elected to serve as a trustee for the Flatiron Condominium Trust in North Adams, Mass. “My Walden experience will play a role as I apply my learning from the bachelor's and master's programs when deciding for the trust,” Gryczan says.
2003
Dr. Craig C. Kuriger, who earned a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences, published an article, “Workplace Change and Worker Fears,” in the Army Logistician. The article was adapted from his book, Organizational Change: Case Studies in the Real World. Kuriger teaches at Black Hawk College in Illinois and Matanuska-Susitna College in Alaska.
1998
Dr. Donald McLellan, who earned a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences, represented the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and Walden University (as a School of Public Policy and Administration faculty member) at a Spanish national police conference in September. McLellan also presented “Physical and Psychological Aspects of Police Involved Shootings” at the IACP annual conference.
1997
Dr. Don Grady, who earned a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences, was selected by the State Department to serve a one-year term as a senior advisor to the Iraqi Minister of the Interior, providing counsel on how to create police forces that can function in a democratic society. During the late 1990s, he worked in the Balkans helping to establish police forces in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Grady is the chief of police at Northern Illinois University.
1995
Dr. Alan W. White, who earned a Ph.D. in Administration/Management (now Applied Management and Decision Sciences), was the featured speaker at the International Institute of Justice and Development Conference on Africa. White previously served as the chief of investigations for the U.N.-created Special Court for Sierra Leone, which indicted and arrested Charles Taylor, the former president of Liberia. White was responsible for the investigation that led to the indictment and arrest of Taylor.
