Walden University alumni, students, faculty and staff will support several good causes during the third annual National Day of Service, Saturday, Oct. 4. Volunteers are needed to organize or participate in projects in their areas.
Last year, volunteers in 12 cities across the United States undertook endeavors ranging from restoring a home devastated by Hurricane Katrina to serving meals at shelters. The Walden University Office of Alumni Relations organizes the event and works with volunteers to locate projects and solicit volunteers.
Furthering its mission to effect positive social change, Walden leads its academic community in donating time and expertise to help their neighbors in need at this annual event.
Last October, volunteers helped restore the historic Clifton Mansion in Baltimore, harvested produce for food pantries in Denver and worked with People Assisting the Homeless (PATH) in Los Angeles.
