Read New Issue of Walden Impact Education Online

Impact Education, a resource for educators, includes articles about founding a school, using technology in the classroom and how to create a grassroots community campaign.

In October 2008, Walden University’s Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership published its new issue of Impact Education, a resource that offers insightful stories and practical knowledge for everyone interested in education.

In the feature article, “What it Takes to Start Your Own School,” Walden alumni and faculty members share their experiences, setbacks and the perseverance it took to ultimately push forward.

The Lifelong Learners department features “Spreading the Technology Word,” in which a Walden M.S. in Education alumna and current Doctor of Education student shares unique ways in which her students are using technology not only to learn, but to teach their educators.

The publication also includes practical tips from alumni, including “Reaching Out: How to Create a Grassroots Campaign,” a look at how veteran teacher Neil Schafer, eager to create a community outreach program for health students, led his Norristown, Pa., community to receive an $89,000 grant from the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The current issue of Impact Education and its archives are available at www.ImpactEducation.com.
