Dr. Patricia D. Hoge, who earned a Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in K–12 Educational Leadership, has been named vice president of Curriculum and Instruction at Connections Academy, which operates virtual public schools nationally. She presented “Professional Learning Communities and Social Networking for Online Teachers” at the North American Council for Online Learning Virtual School Symposium 2008 held Oct. 27–28 in Phoenix. She also presented “K–12 Course Development: Key Considerations for Success” at the 14th Annual Sloan-C Conference on Online Learning held Nov. 5–7 in Orlando, Fla.

Laura Nungester, who earned an M.S. in Education, has achieved National Board Certification as a teacher from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Nungester teaches third grade at Scioto Elementary School in Commercial Point, Ohio.

Dr. Deborah W. Proctor, who earned a Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Educational Technology, was selected to facilitate a Learning Center Course titled “What Is a Canned Course? Faculty Perceptions of Courses Created by Others," at the Innovations 2009 Conference, in Reno-Tahoe, Nev., on March 15–18, 2009. The conference is sponsored by The League for Innovation in the Community College.

Dr. Eric Achiri Mongo, who earned a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences, published two articles in 2006. “The Role of Education in Economic Development in Africa” was published in Global Education Journal (3), 20–31, and “Management Decision and Change: Adopting New Technology for Business in Sub-Saharan Africa” was published in Leadership & Management Journal, (2), 91–107. He also published “The Impact of Rural Development on Poverty in Cameroon” in Insights into a Changing World, Issue 4, in 2008, and was accepted as a Reviewer for the Academy of Management.

Dr. Dennis E. Morrow, who earned a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences, has been named chairman of the Massey School of Business at Herzing College's Atlanta Campus.

Katherine P. Kelly, who earned an M.S. degree in Nursing, published an article titled “Code 42: A Quality Initiative Program for Improving Door-to-Balloon Times in ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction” in the Nov. 4, 2008, issue of Cath Lab Digest, a peer-reviewed publication.
