Recipients Celebrate Educator for a Day Grants Schools in Mississippi, Washington and Maine receive $5,000 each.
On Nov. 20, 2008, The Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership at Walden University awarded $5,000 grants to three schools. The schools hosted Educator for a Day events to foster awareness of the need for more teachers and of the benefits of the teaching profession. The awards were given as part of the nationwide celebration of the National Education Association’s American Education Week, Nov. 16 to 22, 2008.
Eastlawn Elementary School in Pascagoula, Miss., was one of three schools that received Educator for a Day grants.
