New Program Addresses Need for Strong Communicators

B.S. in Communication addresses need across all industries.

Walden University is now offering a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Communication program to address the need across all industries for professionals with strong communication skills that can translate to business success.

Whether you are pursuing a career in advertising, marketing, public relations, or promotions, or you are seeking to broaden your career options in other fields, Walden’s B.S. in Communication can help strengthen your communication skills and enhance your effectiveness in the workplace. Students who register now to begin classes in June will be eligible to receive a 15 percent tuition reduction.*

“Communication is a core and critical element for success for most professions, especially in these tumultuous times,” said Dr. Wanda S. Gravett, associate dean of the School of Management. “Those students who can communicate clearly and effectively to internal and external audiences and can use the latest technology tools to broaden the reach of their messages will have a distinct advantage, both in their work and in the larger marketplace.”

Students can choose from six concentrations:

Core courses that focus on self-discovery and self-improvement enable students to assess their own communication styles and enhance their professional growth and development. Topics include interpersonal communication, group and organizational communication, and communication and thought.

Students can gain the skills needed to meet the growing demand for expertise in new media and online communication through courses on computer-mediated communications, Web 2.0 systems and applications, and using new media.
