In Memoriam: Undergraduate Studies Faculty Member

The Walden University community mourns the loss of Betty DeVore.

Betty DeVore, a part-time faculty member with the Center for Undergraduate Studies, died April 20, 2009, in Ontario, Ohio. DeVore, 53, was a respected member of Walden University and a sought-after instructor among students.

DeVore received her bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and her master’s degree in education from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. After retiring from the Ontario School District, she served as a faculty member at Walden and North Central State College in Mansfield, Ohio.

Spending time with her family was important to DeVore, and she especially enjoyed vacationing with them in North Carolina.

Betty DeVore is survived by her husband, Paul John DeVore, and her two sons, Kevin and Keith.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or MedCentral Hospice.
