Beginning in September 2009, students can enroll in an exciting new program that unites two of United States’ most dynamic industries—technology and health care. The M.S. in Health Informatics provides the specialized skills and training students need to integrate advanced digital technologies into the field of health care to help reduce costs, increase access and improve the quality of care in a wide range of settings.

“Health informatics is a critical component in the modern model of medicine,” says Don Zimmerman, Ph.D., vice president of the College of Health Sciences. “As national health care reform gains increasing attention, policymakers and health care practitioners are recognizing how health informatics can be used to significantly increase the effectiveness and efficiencies of health care services.”
