New B.S. in Health Studies Offered

Undergraduate program offers concentrations in Health Management, Health Informatics and Health Psychology and Behavior.

Walden University is now offering a new B.S. in Health Studies program to help students prepare for professional careers in the rapidly evolving health care sector. Developed in collaboration with health care industry experts, the program provides students an opportunity to leverage their experience in the allied health sector to help prepare to take the next step in your career and professional development.

Through the B.S. in Health Studies, students can:

  • Understand how to interpret health care data to reduce costs and improve the quality of care with a Health Informatics concentration
  • Manage and lead complex healthcare departments and organizations with a Health Management concentration
  • Academically prepare to lead healthy changes in the behavior of individuals and their communities with a Health, Psychology and Behavior concentration.

“The health care industry is changing rapidly with the economy driving the need for greater cost containment and advanced technology driving the need for increasingly sophisticated diagnoses and types of care,” said Donald Zimmerman, Ph.D., vice president of the College of Health Sciences. “Walden’s B.S. in Health Studies can provide students with the knowledge base required to understand and anticipate the continuing changes in the health care industry.”
