Outstanding Alumni Award Recipient

Dr. Prince Ordu is contributing to positive social change in the United States and Africa.

Dr. Prince Augustine Ordu
Dr. Prince Augustine Ordu, who graduated in 2000 with a Ph.D. in Health Services, received Walden University’s Outstanding Alumni Award for his global social change contributions. As a professor, Dr. Ordu has taught and continues to teach hundreds of students business, management, healthcare, research and human resources at Central Michigan University, American InterContinental University and Capella University.

Born in Nigeria, Africa, Ordu continues to give back to the continent of his birth through his work. With the organization World Neighbors, Ordu works to make clean water available to the Ozuzu community in River State, Nigeria. As a member of the Etche-America Foundation, Ordu leads projects on community building, education, economics and health issues in Nigeria. Ordu is an active member of the Peoples Club of Nigeria International, the American Management Association and National Association of Health Services Executives.

Dr. Sharon Riley Ordu, Ordu’s wife, nominated him, writing:

“I am nominating Prince because of these many accomplishments and contributions to social change in the world, which were inspired by the mission of Walden University. Prince came to the U.S. at the age of 19 and struggled to get where he is with his parents’ and family’s support back in Africa. He is truly a community leader and distinguished alumni of Walden University.”
