 Christine Todd Whitman Whitman’s speech was given on July 23, 2009, in Minneapolis as part of Walden University’s “Perspectives on the World” speakers series. Whitman served as governor of New Jersey from 1994 to 2001, and as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency from 2001 to 2003. Governor Whitman currently serves as president of the Whitman Strategy Group, a consulting firm specializing in energy and environmental issues facing businesses, organizations and governments. Drawing on her 40 years of public service, Whitman discussed the pervasive nature of hyperpartisanship in politics, and offered solutions for transcending party politics in America.
