In Memoriam: Applied Management and Decision Sciences Student

The Walden University community mourns the loss of Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences student Sharon Brown. 


Sharon Brown, a former Bellevue, Neb., City Council member, died on July 9, 2009. Brown, 44, was pursuing a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences.

 

Brown served on the Bellevue City Council from 2006 to 2008 and was active in her community as a volunteer, coaching girls volleyball and actively participating in the Twin Ridge neighborhood group and Mount Carmel Baptist Church.

 

Brown taught at Metro Community College, worked at Bellevue University and was an assistant site manager for the Omaha Housing Authority.

 

She is survived by her husband, Herman Brown Jr. and their children Joseph, Herman, Jamal, Kenney, Skylar and Nikki.
